Hi all!

Thanks for your patience while we put the finishing touches on the book and got it ready to print. We've handed off final files to the printer and they are going through proofing now. We originally intended to have the books at Flame Con in August, but the timeline got too tight and we weren't able to guarantee delivery in time. So we're shifting our debut date to late September, where we'll have a release party in San Francisco.

THEATER OF TERROR will be in Diamond Distribution's PREVIEWS catalog in August! You'll get yours first, and it will be hardcover instead of the paperback retail version, but we're happy that the book will also be on store shelves in time for Halloween!

We invited noted science fiction author Samuel L. Delany to provide the foreword for the book, and he graciously accepted!

Last but not least, we made some adjustments to the final cover design and here's an image of what your book will look like.

If you haven't yet filled out your BackerKit survey (and there are a few outstanding surveys), check your email for a message from BackerKit and click through to do so. We won't be "locking" the surveys for another two weeks or so, until we're closer to receiving books, so feel free to go in and change your address or add any extras you'd like. If you run into any trouble, just message me and I'll help.

77% of surveys complete! T-shirt sizing update!

Hey all!

77% of backers have completed their surveys—thank you!—and we're putting the finishing touches on the book to send it to print this week. Once the book is finished and we've made any last minute corrections due to feedback from the printer, I'll put together the digital edition and get that sent out to you. 

I won't "lock" the BackerKit surveys until the printing process is a few weeks in, to give maximum time for people to specify shirt sizes, choose prints, etc. On that note, here's the t-shirt sizing chart for the "all over" t-shirts:

I’ve been working with Justin and Will on the last steps to finish the book before we go to print NEXT WEEK! Yikes!

With that in mind, I’ve sent out the surveys to backers through BackerKit, and you should have received an email with a link in it.

Please reply ASAP—especially if your reward includes a t-shirt—so we can ensure that we print enough of the right sizes for everyone.

And if you know of anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter campaign, let them know they can click the preorder link on the KS page for THEATER OF TERROR and be part of the first wave of books that go out. :)

Not only did we make our goal, but we exceeded it by more than $5000, which means that we'll be converting everyone's print books to hardcover editions and we're able to increase our Creator Payment fund! We're so grateful to everyone who pitched in to help make this the second most successful Kickstarter project that Northwest Press has ever funded!

As we review the printer quotes for the book and add more finished comics to it, we will continue to take pre-orders through our BackerKit site. If you're a backer for the project and want to add a t-shirt, shower curtain, or additional copy of the book to your shipment, you'll have the opportunity to do so when you fill out our survey.

Using BackerKit for surveys for THEATER OF TERROR

We're not to the finish line yet, but I wanted to let you know that we're going to be using a site called BackerKit to send out our surveys and gather information. We've done a lot of campaigns but this is the first time we've used it, and I've been pretty impressed with the features as I've been setting things up.

We'll be sending surveys out about 2 weeks after the funding deadline (to allow all the transactions to settle) and then you'll be getting info in your inboxes through BackerKit with all sorts of fun bells and whistles.

I'll be curious to hear your impressions of it!
